Join The Nature of Words this summer for WOW© - a fun Week of Words© in creative writing workshops.

What: WOW! Week of Words Creative Writing Summer Camp for kids 8-11
When: July 18, 19, 20 from 1 - 3 p.m.

Details: Students at this year's WOW! Week of Words writing camp will participate in fun, multimedia story writing projects and take home their very own bound book of writing at the end of camp. Workshops will focus on character building and collaborative story writing. Students will have access to all of NOW's writing and bookmaking materials during the camp. Workshops may be held outdoors, weather permitting.

About the Instructor: Addie Boswell



Addie Boswell is an artist and writer based in Portland, Ore. Addie specializes in murals and picture books. Her mission is to capture the power of children and childhood through strong characters and simple, rhythmic language. Her first picture book, "The Rain Stomper," won an Oregon Literary Fellowship in 2003 and the 2009 Oregon Spirit Award. She is currently editing her first young adult novel, Essa Vida (That Life), which took her on a funded research trip to Rio de Janeiro. She also creates oil painting and paper collages, and, when not in the studio, teaches children and adults across the state. Organizations she has worked with include the Right Brain Initiative, Saturday Academy, VOZ Workers' Rights Education Project, The Rosewood Initiative, and Willamette Writers. M
