The Nature of Words

Volunteer Opportunity

Like to read? Love books? Want to promote great writing?

Become a volunteer for The Nature of Words.

The Nature of Words would not happen without volunteers. And  we return the favor by taking good care of our volunteers, including a not-to-be-missed annual volunteer thank-you party!

There’s no doubt about it- volunteers are the key to a great The Nature of Words festival. And with almost 60 dedicated literature lovers in the volunteer ranks, this year’s event is set to be a fantastic success.  Now it’s time to put down that book and get in here! Take a look at these volunteer opportunities, then call 541-647-2233 or e-mail info@thenatureofwords.org and find yourself a niche.

The Nature of Words needs volunteers to assist with the following projects:

Distribute promotional materials: Coffee shops, retailers, wine bars and so many other locations are great places for people to learn about The Nature of Words. Volunteers working on this project would invite business owners to display The Nature of Words bookmarks in prominent locations. Help get The Nature of Words message out early and often!

Invite storefront window promotions: The Nature of Words would like to work with downtown Bend and Old Mill shop owners on a creative and fun promotional campaign. In the month of October, shop owners would fill their storefront windows with myriad literary paraphernalia, such as typewriters, quills, pens, books and papers. Volunteers on this project would invite shop owners to take part in this promotion.

Help out during the November festival: Volunteers are needed to meet and greet guests, help with workshop registration, assemble author gift totes and more.

If you don't see something that interests you in the list above, e-mail info@thenatureofwords.org to let us know you want to volunteer and what committees interest you most.
